Watercolor Lettering and the Fear of Colors

I finally got to try Watercolor Lettering. Even though I love arts and crafts, I am a bit afraid with using color in my illustrations. I have always been a frustrated painter. That frustration led me to photography. Even though Watercolor Lettering is a far cry from Painting, I feel like I overcame that fear.

I used Momiji Double 0 Natural Hair Brush. I plan to use this technique for the new menu I am making for Daily Brew
I will also use this as a hand painted banner for this site.

I gulped enough tea just to fuel my creativity.

What's your fear? And what do you plan to do with it?

STAMPATHON: The Aftermath

So last Saturday, we were able to push through with our DIY Rubber Stamp Making Workshop.
We were only 3 due to last minute cancellations but we had so much fun :)

Erika decided to make a Thank You stamp for her amazing hand crafted jewelry business, Obra Paduding.

After several mishaps, she was able to make it.

We all had our fair share of mishaps.
Look at mine!

Aside from new things you learn, my favorite part about Craft Workshops...
New Craft Buddies!

The Cross We Carry

Today, I was lead to read Luke 23 which talks about Jesus' Persecution and Crucifixion.
Reading it made me cry once more. It also reminds me of the battle we go through daily and how mundane it is compare to what  Christ went through.
God however do not belittle your sorrows.

We all fight our battles and it is sad how we do not recognize this. We are becoming more apathetic with other people that we fail to consider other people's situation.

Recently, a loved one is being persecuted at work. His accusations are all false and unreasonable. Just the thought of it makes us cringe. We just leave everything to God. That He will be the one to make the person realize his mistake.

Let us not be quick to judge other people. Always give them the benefit of the doubt. Don't choose your ego over relationships.

Inspire: Build Each other Up

Love each other with genuine affection. Be ready to help and be eager to practice hospitality.
Build each other up. Think of ways to motivate each other in acts of love and good works. Let everything you say be good and helpful, an encouragement. Help others do what is right. Do not neglect meeting each other.

Would you believe that I got all those words above from different Bible verses? Amazing how they all connect. I actually got the verses from the devotional material of our church for the Prayer and Fasting Week. This was under the topic of Our Church. I thought of sharing this because I believe this can also be related to our Family and other Relationships.

I have committed to becoming an encouragement to other people through my words.
My mouth is both my strength and weakness. I can speak beautiful and encouraging words to people. However, my mouth is like a sword as well. When I am mad, I can say the most hurtful words. That is why I also committed myself not to use foul and abusive language. I am not just talking about curses, but everyday negative words that we often don't notice we get to use on people we love. Words like stupid or you can't do it.

So this year, let us commit to becoming a walking dictionary of wonderful and encouraging words.

A Crafty Bridal Shower

Last May, I organized a Bridal Shower for my friend Jamie.

Since Bridal Showers on our side of town are wholesome, I decided to throw her Crafty Bridal Shower.

And since the them of their wedding is Boho, I decided to make the attendees create Dream Catchers.

Each Dream Catcher they made represented a blessing for the couple such as wealth, patience, faith, etc.

Craft Kits are given to each guest.

This bridal shower also served a double purpose. The dream catchers they made were also used to decorate the teepee altar during the actual wedding.

If you want to throw a bridal shower like this for your bride-to-be friend but find it too time consuming, we can do it for you. Contact me at 09178853187.
